Irene Emma Taylor

Irene Emma Taylor (nee Allen), born 22nd March 1920, died 11th June 1996.

She was married to Charles Taylor from Upwood. Irene spent her childhood in Ramsey Forty Foot, going into service aged just 14. When she was 21 she moved to London, eventually joining the Wrens as a Chief Petty Officer. She was stationed at Greenwich until the end of the war. Later she became the manager of B Packs at Bury.

Her cremated remains are buried along with her mother’s (Lillian Allen) in plot T44 at Ramsey Cemetery.
