Rose May Bufton

Rose May Bufton, nee Seekings/Papworth was born in 1891 to Sarah Matilda Seekings, father unknown, and lived in Bury, opposite Burton Brothers until her mother married Jabez Papworth in 1894 and they moved into Homelea on the High Street, next to the Infants' School.

She married a Welsh man and moved to Wales. She had 2 children, Raymond and Marjorie. When her husband died, she and her children returned to Ramsey to be near her family.

She lived at 64 Station Road until she became ill and could no longer care for herself, she moved to Cambridge to be nursed by her daughter, Marjorie. She was greatly involved in Salem Chapel and the Methodist Church.

She died in a hospice of cancer in 1960.
